Charles
Kremer House
1841
Built by Charles Kremer, a saddler. He was the son-in-law of Dr. Benjamin Vierling.
The house reflects some alterations dating back to sometime after 1873.

Cedarhyrst

Built for Dr. Nathaniel Siewers and his wife Eleanor de Schweinitz Siewers. This home
was designed by a New York architect and features limestone walls, a slate roof and stained
glass windows.

Salem Boy's
School

This building was constructed to replace the 1794 Boy's School located on the corner
of Academy Street and Main Street.
Current Use:
Offices for the Moravian Church. Also, the rehearsal hall for the Salem Concert Band is
located on the second floor. |

Steiner
House
1823
Restored
Built for Charles Abraham Steiner who was a chairmaker. The house has two separate
entrances, one for the living quarters and one for the shop. The house contains an 1874
kitchen addition.

Home Moravian Church Parsonage. |

Bishop's
House
1841
Built to house the pastor of the Salem Congregation. This house was the home of three
Bishop's of the Church; Bishop William Henry Van Vleck, Bishop George F. Bahnson and Bishop
Edward E. Rondthaler
Current Use:
Used by Home Moravian Church
for classrooms and meetings. |
